Nitrox is a breathing gas that contains more oxygen than air (air contains 21% oxygen). The most common blend contains 32% oxygen (EAN32). Divers use nitrox to extend bottom times, shorten surface intervals, or to pad their margin of safety.
The Nitrox Diver course is an entry-level course for divers learn about the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving with EAN 22 to EAN 40. We'll also cover equipment considerations for using nitrox, gas analysis, and cylinder labeling.
This course, offered through Technical Diving International (TDI) is more comprehensive than course offered through recreational certification agencies. The TDI course is designed to provide a solid basis for divers who are considering moving into technical diving. It is a prerequisite for the Advanced Nitrox course.
