Advanced Nitrox Diver
The Advanced Nitrox Diver course picks up where Nitrox Diver ended. In this course, you learn to use breathing gasses that contain 21% to 100% oxygen. You must still operate within the limits of your current certification, so that means no decompression or diving beyond 130' unless you are also taking Decompression Procedures.
Advanced Nitrox Diver, Decompression Procedures, and Helitrox Diver form the foundation for technical diving. By combining the three courses, you will be able to:
- plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 150' that require staged decompression,
- utilize a modest amount of helium in your breathing gas to manage nitrogen narcosis, and
- optimize your ascent schedule by using oxygen-rich gasses to aid decompression.
The combination course can be taught entirely at the quarry. Better yet, we can begin at the quarry and complete the course dives on a Great Lakes charter. What better way to complete your transition to technical diving than by visiting an amazing shipwreck!
